New A320's & A321's for GB

from www.abtn.co.uk on the 4 April 2005...
GB AIRWAYS has signed a contract with Airbus for five A320 series aircraft, one A320 and four A321s. This is the first time that the airline is acquiring aircraft directly from Airbus. Delivery of these five aircraft is expected from 2007 onwards.
Does anyone know anything further. Will existing crews man these planes? Will there be new routes? Will further recruitment be required?

Many thanks

heebeegb,

Thanks for the reply. As I understand, the current recruitment was for the new Manchester base and the 3 new a/c that are arriving there.

Therefore, this new order for 5 further a/c from 2007 onwards seems separate?

Any help gratefully received!

Cheers,

Hey, what 3 new a/c?

There was a large order that was announced April time at a similar time to BMED's order that encompasses the 2006/7 onwards stuff. The 2 from this year will be part of an earlier order I would imagine - nobody can get A320 family aircraft that quickly...except A318s.
