10 flights to be cancelled - thats alot! Will they be replaced by additional services from MAN to Pakistan. What is the demand like from MAN to Pakistan? I heard it was massive - demand outruns supply and many have to connect in DXB and DOH to get to Pakistan.

When CX appear, offering HKG daily, I'll skip down the central reservation of the M56, naked, in rush hour, whilst eating my hat.

Easyjet - don't know, although they did apply for slots in the summer.

concorde001. I wouldn't worry about PIA going direct to the USA. They carry so few passengers between MAN, YYZ and JFK anyway, and they probably take up stand space at the moment. We know that's a peak time problem at T2

Yes the MAN - Pakistan market is huge, and PIA are apparently to be joined by Airblue and that other uk airline, the name of which I forget.

Manchester still has a very impresive schedule of point to point flights to Pakistan.

To be honest the other flights were as such not Manchester flights at all and could have transited via anywhere within range that had a long enough runway. A chap from Pakistan to the USA was not bothered where he touched down to re fuel within reason

Looking at the PIA seat availability on the web site before they chenged it there appeard very little Manchester passengers on these flights.

If Virgin are going 10x weekly to MCO next summer, does this mean there are 2 MAN based aircraft? If so, assuming each aircraft can do a daily MAN-MCO-MAN rotation, then what is the second aircraft going to be doing Monday- Thursday? Could this mean more routes?

Enlighten me people!

LXO is the code for Luxor Air.

Before anyone says it... the code for Air Luxor is LXR.

Confused? Join the club.

whats happening at manchester - if bacx leave t3 who would want to be moved there - i flew from there a few weeks ago and wast impressed - was even more disappoibted when i saw the aggage claime - all 2 of them and so higgledy piggldy - i designed beter on airport inc years ago

plus landing into t2 this week i had to q for half an hour at immigration despite having a gb passport im guesing they're clamping down on immigration but wouldnt it make sense for them to employ more staff to do this rather then make do with what they ahve.

also whilst im on my high horse first choice at t2 need sorting out quing for check in like that omg and dont even get me started on excel check in desks being located t2 arrivals - and people thought the station was a strange place to check in - before u know it they'll take out a sink per toilet and add a check in desk there.

i know they're expanding but have they even though about how thay are going to do this

but on a completely differant note when r mh going to go daily - they used to go via munich why not increase to daily with the new flts going via europe - i work for a tour operator and it really winds me up when pax have to extend there holidays or even worse overnight in kul cos their flt from per/lgk/bki etc dont connect

i know they changed their scehduals to same money but it makes no sense!

thanks for listening to me ramble

i support man 100% jst wish it would sort its act out which reminds me - is it gate 300in t2 were u get ahve way down one of the piers and then down stairs - the sign so small blink and you'd miss it -

sorry

sorry was on a bit of a rant - the main points being

cant believe how unorginised man appears to be -

seems like they are just chucking check in desks anywhere - the station, arrivals

just hope that there is some grand design of things that will make the airport great again

flew from t3 for the first time recently and was shocked at how un organised that appears to be - i cant understand any airline wanting to use it after bacx go
i mean the baggage carosells seem to of been chucked in as an after thought and it al seems like corriders

then completely seperately i had a rent about mh flt schedual into man with connection times being the main prob - and also the lack of a daily service - which i know would do well if the times were better thought out

well hope my little rant has entertained you -

Most Asian long haul flights arrive mid late afternoon, if you look at Heathrow Singapore, Malasia ,China, Japan and Thai etc nearly all arrive after 16.00 with a second batch arriving very early morning
around 05.00 and allow for a mid morning departure from asia and a mid afternoon return if I remember correctly

Please, use capitals at the begining of sentences.

For God's sake put a full stop at the end. I'm out of breath trying to read your ramble, never mind understand it!

Use a spell checker!

Most of us do not understand your abbreviations. This is not texting, you have a keyboard; Use it!!

Put simply, I agree 100% with Lord Toofouright.

T2 Phase 2 expansion plans are pretty much finalised now. Remote pier has been dropped, instead the expansion will see west pier extended, along with the main terminal building to incorporate purely extra retail space.

Extra check in desks are to be located in the concourse currently used as landside retail. Security is apparently moving to the mezzanine level (sounds like a right messy set up!)

Passengers using aircraft parked on the remote west apron stands will be bussed out from T2 bussing lounge. Great.

Let the chaos begin!

OH good god no! I have experienced this kind of lunacy at LAX in the AA terminal. Check in desks EVERYWHERE and security hidden up a set of stairs on a mezzanine level. It was utter, utter chaos (this was last march) and because of the chaos we actualy missed two flights! Not the way forward MAN.

Has Manchester got the land to build a new terminal maybe a t4, that would be good or isn't there the demand for another terminal. Its getting stupid with were they are putting check-in desks.
