KF couldnt afford 2 of the the A340-500s which ended up with Arik Air. Unless things radically change they will have to delay the A380s.

Tell me this is wrong

Kingfisher to take delivery of first Airbus corporate jet- Airlines / Aviation-Transportation-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

Selling an ACJ for 4500 to 5000$ an hour, no surprise if the company is struggling.

So, in other words, as he cuts back on expansion he has taken a new corporate jet for his "empire" (too early for me to think of another word to use) and perhaps HOPES he can lease it out when the UB Group are not using it themselves.

Could get interesting

Kingfisher Airlines hopes to charge a charter rate of $4,500 to $5,000 per hour for use of the plane
Well thats what the twin engine helicopter like Agusta 109 gets you... I thought Airbus would be a bit expensive though....

I thought the writing was on the wall for this company as soon as they ordered A380's. It seemed so wildly over-ambitious it could only mean the company was over-reaching itself and would soon crash to earth.

Dodgy

An ambitious project from the previous economic era. Kingfisher are likely to struggle, and would be best advised to stop their planned expansion...NOW!

Wink Kingfisher

I flew with KFA for 15 months in India-some good times but a highly disorganised operation with no clear direction for going international.

The A345 plans were flawed-KFA had never operated outside India and proposed starting with a Banglaore-San Francisco non stop ULH service for 14-15 hrs.

It was wildly ambitious and the A380 order is further evidence, the A320 was chaos that was 100% domestic.

I understand the A330 LHR service is losing steadily.

Over expanded too fast in an unknown market not ideal in 2009.
