DERRY/LONDONDERRY
Ryanair themselves have said they have loaded their summer 2015 schedule from Birmingham: Welcome to Ryanair!
Derry is missing. Ergo, it's gone. Hardly a surprise, as the schedule was unusable in any meaningful way.

We've seen this sort of thing before only for the Derry route to be added late.
Perhaps these are the routes from Birmingham based aircraft and they intend doing a W pattern with another aircraft from another base (Glasgow?).

There is definitely something odd going on with the Ryanair schedules from next April.
Nothing is bookable to or from LDY but any other airport has flights available, both airports to which LDY flies (GLA, PIK, STN, LPL, BHX) and other airports such as Dublin Cork and Knock.
That does not make sense unless 1 of 2 things:
1) A Ryanair pullout of the airport
2) A Ryanair base at the airport
So which is more likely?
Were loading figures really that bad?
Alternatively what would preparations for a base look like? Planes would be available from LDY so would not need prior loading into the schedules from the other airports so it could look like this. Of course so would a pullout!

Just another thought.
Why transfer the LDY flights from PIK to GLA if you're planning to pull the plug on them 6 months later?
That would make no sense!
Does that make a base more probably? Or another explanation?

Perhaps the issue is that airport management have increased fees to a sustainable level and FR are waving their services in front of them until they get the charging structure that they want ??
A base of 1 unit is completely conceivable ... Day return on London route, sending ac LDY - STN - sun route- LDY ... Then same in reverse ..
A based unit could mean getting the best out of all routes ...

Good point.
If the contracts are due soon for renewal what better way to strengthen your negotiating hand than to show the airport what their schedule could look like.
So 3rd option:
3) Contract negotiations.

There have been whisperings on other threads that LDY have been talking to Aer Lingus about flying from Derry.
Maybe Ryanair have got wind of this and are playing games/huffing with LDY as regards next summer timetable.

Are lingus regional is a possible airline for derry
It's has the right size aircraft, well know brand in NI and is currently expanding at a fast rate
Every airport needs it key airline
BHD has flybe
BFS has ezy
I don't think Ryanair is the right airline for derry
Thinking outside of the box is ryanair possibly coming to BFS after reaching an agreement with new owners and therefore just don't want to be flying to an airport so close to derry?

FR's (possible) departure from LDY was, in my mind, only a matter of time. With the probable exception of FAO, STN and LPL, I can't imagine they're making much money there.
Loading all the summer schedules, and then unloading them, tells me that they're gone. In the past they may have loaded schedules with ridiculous timings, but then updated them as the season approached. They have never unloaded ALL schedules before.
No doubt, in between visiting workshops and seminars on the use of social media, and advertising car parking, the management at LDY are busting a gut to get some form of replacement.......not.
Their silence is deafening.
