Would somebody please post some pics of this flyby. It is a subject on our internal postings where some of our guys saw it in TV and are commenting on the attitude of our local CAA when it comes to this sort of thing such as delivery of new aircraft or last flight of retiring captains. Looking forward to the pics.:=

Awesome!!!!!!!!!

I watched the flypast on TV. I am very sorry that I was not there to see it first hand as I was at the Rugby World Cup. It looked absolutely awesome!

At SAA there are a bunch of pilots who are supported by the management who are given opportunities to do these fly pasts. They really do make their mark. They are talked about LONG after the event, worldwide (Rugby World Cup Flypast by Laurie Kay) They promote aviation and a huge sence of national pride.

The formation was excellent, the 340 lead and the two 400's in vic. Height? Safe but with an aluminium overcast like that you do not have to get that low to be impressive. I have not seen photos yet other than TV. I am sure that they should appear soon.

TX PD

Tx P.D. for the pic.

Anyone interested in the pic mail me at [email protected]

Very interesting remarks made by you guys re Captains getting a farewell flight, "shoot - ups" , fly - pasts ..

Personally: If great care is taken in the safety of a fly-past (the way I think SAA is doing it), I have no problem with it - in fact it is a massive advert for our aviation.

Sunny skies, braaivleis and SAA doing fly pasts - like the Toyota advert is great :)

Please keep it up for all of us !
