Lancair Iv-p

Greetings fellow Aviators

Know anything about the LANCAIR IV-P?

Believe it is a mean performer - 300mph plus ect.....

Have been comparing other homebuilt aircraft, and had chosen the RV series as my favourite. Until I saw this beauty. I would like to buy in the near future and would love some feedback from other guys.

Any info would be greatly appreciated........heck, perhaps someone owns one in SA?

Thanks

IV's in SA

Hi Captn,

try this out, go to this website SA Civil Aviation Register and in the search fields, enter the folowing registrations, ZU-BGT, ZU-BJJ, and ZU-BMB. Those results will produce contact details for the owners of those 3 Lancair IV's.

Good luck

Well SA is not my neck of the woods but I have flown one a couple of months ago in the US. It is a beast. Initial climb was 1500 ft/min and we went so all the way up to 20.000 ft!!! Then cruise.... After we landed we calculated the TAS 270 mph. I couldn`t belive my eyes. And they told me that it could do better then that. It is the best thing ever. Flying is great, the preformance is even better. Get your self one of those Cpt.!Then go up and pass a CJ1-well almost. There is one thing that you have to remember with this plane. The regulation about passsing other aircrafts in the air!

Lancair IV-P

If you really are genuine about wanting a Lancai IV-P and can handle such a hotrod I might just have the bargain of a lifetime for you. I had a friend who had one built professionally but died just before it was finished, Let me know if you or anyone else out there is interested.

Personally I will never buy another aircraft that burns avgas

good point RT, I was a little sceptical myself, but this one is realy amazing. I realy can`t afford one , but I cad see myself owning one if I could. And the price is quite high I think 100.000 US just for the frame.I guess Diesel6149 has a good price tag on his.As long as it is not diesel!
:D

Well for me maybe in a 100 years or so.

Hey mate, make me an offer!

I will have to do some more research, but am interested. I take it the plane is based in Aus? If so, I will have to take into consideration the shipping costs too......cause after all, it was designed to be a cruiser, but I think Per - Jnb is asking a bit much!! Dont you think (He He).

Please drop me an email to: [email protected]
please include, price/time on hobbs/avionics/paintwork and perhaps a photo or two....

Thanks
