I'm not to be honest. Aircraft bursting tyres on landing is not a particularly unusual event. Might have woken up the PPRuNe Accident Investigation Team if the a/c had veered off the runway and narrowly missed a primary school.

It blocked the main hub of East Africa and you think it was nothing to write home about? Had it happened in a major European or American city am sure there might have arm chair investigators at the ready.

Isn't the whole purpose of posting at pprune to learn from incidents or accidents...or does it have to be a fatal crash for folks in here to take note?

This is lurpotedly not a simple tyre burst issue as the whole wheel assembly brakes on one side locked. It might be a useful thread for Techlog inputs dont you think?

Might this have been Brake Control Unit Failure with the Touch down protection or Anti Lock protection degraded?KQ E jet jocks...any flying rumours to beef up this story? It was not an accident per se...why are the Lion Pride not grawling?? On hunger strike eh?

Mbuvi...you are accountable!!! ;) Are you keeping yoyr maintenance crew happy or are they migrating the den to greener pastures?
