Best type rating for Maun

If you were going to Maun and could only afford one type rating together with 500 hours, which would you go for I.e. Cessna 206 or GA8?

Airvan, no doubt

and if someone wanted to start a Bush flying charter company operating around Maun and Kasane, I take it that the GA8 Airvan would be the best aircraft to operate?

"Bush flying charter company operating around Maun and Kasane"

I would consult possible customers.

It is a busy market - I would look at freight/food as my income source.

If you want a job, C206 will give you more options.
If up, I would rather go C208 instead of GA8.

Tight on budget and starting another bush flying company there?
Gallows frame and rope is quicker, rates are down below survival.

I disagree on both counts if we are specifically talking about Maun. 7/8 companies operate Airvans, whereas only 4/8 operate C206s.

No company in Maun will hire a direct entry caravan pilot so paying for that rating is not going to help.
