Renewal of EASA ratings in Africa
Good afternoon,
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to renew my EASA CPL SEP and IR anywhere in Africa? I have a UK licence and do not want to convert it at the moment, but need to renew the SEP and IR Many thanks in advance for anyone's help! |
Hi Keen to fly,
Looks like there is not much Easa activity here......firstly you would need an EASA reg aircraft with an EASA TRE.....however if you have a UK CPL, it should be a multi engine -IR-MCC rating so renewing the SEP is not of any benefit to the licence.....a typerating on another aircraft in an EASA facility would take care of all that. A few years back, as long as the IR doesn't stay unrenewed within 7 years, your technicals are still valid. Just keep your medical going at least. Wish you the best of luck. |
I don't think it has to be an EASA reg. aircraft, and no requirement for a TRE either. A Class Rating Examiner should be sufficient.
However it has to be an approved EASA examiner. If your rating has not expired - I don't even see why the examiner would have to hold the local reg. license (for your EASA renewal), as long as it is on a certified (AFM) single pilot aero plane.. |
