J41 payload
 

I was wondering how the J41 loading is influenced when destination airport has poor Wx, holding etc but has full approach facilities. Can the aircraft carry full pax/baggage for a 300nm sector ? Just a general interest.

Lots of variables there (e.g. how far is the usable alternate airport?) but the answer is probably "no".

Nice looking plane with several low time airframes on the market which is more than you can say for it's more popular cousin the Brasilia which is beter suited for African operations anyway.....

Melax: Brasilia has two words that are missing from JS41: Pratt & Whitney.

keitaidenwa has hit the first nail on the head - Garrett engines require more attention than pratts by both pilots and engineers meaning that operating them away from "Home" or where you fly many sectors away from maintenance facilities can be risky.
They also don't apreciate dust or heat either making more usefull in Europe or the US than in most African operations.
Spare parts are another bone of contention in such that as the J41 was produced in such low numbers compared with the Brasilia that most of the commonly used parts are difficult or expensive to obtain, and in the past unless you were SA Express only available from the US or EU.

Think you mean Airlink. SA Express has never operated J41's.
