Fast Jet
Fast Jet,Tanzania, who is the owner? Are they operating in Kenya,Uganda?? Is ATC,Precision Air, going to survive with this low cost ??
|
i haven't seen too many N- registered pistons around wilson. The only ones that come to mind are MAF and AIMAIR. I think they both have 206s. Not 100% sure about the registration though. Perhaps you'd have better luck in Dar? (don't quote me on that though)

First of all, why do you need a N-reg for FAA currency?
There is not a single regulation that specifies that. You can even do check rides in another registry if the examiner agrees. (61.45(2)(ii) Instrument proficiency, passenger carrying requirements, Flight review, all can be done in any other registration. |
B2N2
I was waiting for someone to say it B2. I think the only requirment is that it has to be in a type that has received a U.S. type certificate.
FAA: Home ...and I'm not even sure of that. |
B2 and temp, you are absolutely right! Now, to find a CFII this neck of the woods!
|
Kibz, valuable insight. Much thanks! Will look into it. Thing is, where there is N- bird, there's likely a valid faa cfi.

I may have some more good news for you Buff, you may not need a FAA CFII.
For continuous IFR currency you need to do at least the ****, six approaches (any type), holds, intercept and tracking of a course by naviagtional electronic systems. 61.57 (c)(1) If you have not done so you have a 6 months grace period where you are not allowed to fly IFR (in a N-reg) as PIC but you can fly VFR under the hood with a safety pilot and make yourself current by meeting the above requirements. If you have not done anything for 12 months, then you need an IPC with a FAA CFII or examiner. *** obviously any approaches you fly while operating on the priviliges of another nations' license count towards the FAA currency requirements *** |
