Airmauritius

Hi Gents,

Any recommendations for Airmauritius, Your input would be appreciated.

Cheers.

EDIFICE 26th Apr 2011 22:32

Did you mean Air Suspicious? Well one thing if do not you want to be treated like a stupid, keep away. There is a big Bugs Bunny show on the menu. Only a few guys of a deam team here who are making sunshine or rains and who know how to fly. the rest is the rest and another basket.
Check out previous link on MK of last month,
Fgliht ops is bieng run like a circus and a chinese shop,
I forgot to tell that you also need to be rocket scientist same like Bugs Banny and the wailers. before you can join these buch of arrogants,

Ciao!:ok:

Yup, they're looking. All their guys have jumped the sinking ship. Any new guys joining will be severely encouraged to go down with the ship, rather than to head off to qatar, or other dustier deserts. :ok:

mototopo 27th Apr 2011 08:08

When an airline is starting recruitment is always good news nowadays.
Isn't it?

Still too many pilots on ground, if join Air Mauritius would be a starter... Why not?!

Then, if the ship goes too close by the water, take a jacket, jump and swim.. :E

Thank you for your replies!

They were looking for National CPL holders not long ago. I believe theyve found enough people as theyve removed the ad from their website. They seem to still be recruiting expat 319/330/340 FOs ad ATR captains though. My understanding is that they have an urgent need to fill the gaps in the larger types since there arent enough entry level FOs on the ATR that would allow them to promote the current ATR FOs who have been flying for 3-4 years on type. An ab-initio selection a year or 2 ago would have helped but with the crisis and all i suppose they didnt wanna risk it.

Anyone know when the AB-Initio course will be re-launched? Since their requirements are short term i doubt they would need cadets at the moment but any prospects for the future?

mototopo 27th Apr 2011 12:50

A friend of mine is working there and he told me there is/was an endless turnaround, people leaving while people being hired; working conditions not the best..
But it's only one voice, any other tip from nationals and expat insiders?

Personally I'm now interested in A319 situation.

Thanks much!

So, I've heard about this psychometric aptitude test.... Any ideas?

I do have a degree in aeronautics, though, I have found out, that even Einstein was told to be nuts.

I am sure there are some weak areas that they are looking in an individual... Who knows... :D

Softride 10th May 2011 04:41

Funny enough, pilots contracts are now improved and many of the pilots who left or just left are coming back to Air Mauritius. So it is not such a bad airline considering the fact that some are leaving Qatar, Etihad, Emirates and so... It means that these airlines from sandpit are not that great....Just food for thought.

Cheers to all.

From an insider

Sometimes things get better..

Any inside rumor about recruitment for the small bus?
TKS!:ok:

Hi there !
I received an email from air mauricius one week ago, sent us everything (passport, JAR licence...) and no news.
Does someone have any news ?

EDIFICE 11th May 2011 21:30

Softride,

Where are these people who are leaving Qatar, Etihad, Emirates to join MK???
Haven't seen any around yet!
Is there any change in MK mentality to have the boys back!!!!

turbulence315 12th May 2011 10:58

I am still waiting for a reply also...

Does anyone know the interview process for non rated applicants?

Thanks

I've asked every pilot I know who's left. None of them are returning. Where do you get your (insider) info from?

mumby50 27th May 2011 13:56

Conditions have somehow improved. However the same bunch of rats at Filght Ops. are still there. Those who fired Pilots randomly, those who didn't' pay Pilots when they had to leave, those who are abusing Pilots and threatening them, those who did put Pilots without contract, pay and insurance for a few months before renewing their contracts, those who can't organise a descent roster and leave system...yes they are still there and just waiting to do the same when times come!

That's why, a few ex MK drivers, have been looking to come back but when looking at the big picture decided to stay away!

As Edifice is mentioning the Bugs Bunny show is still going on!

Softride open your eyes, ask anyone flying for MK if they trust management at Flight Ops. Nobody is, WHY? just look at their past track record!

EDIFICE 29th May 2011 19:51

It seems that Bright Mind Theorem is striking again.Wonder why most chaps proposal for upgrade as P1 didn't worked out?????
Was this a bait for the boys not to leave Air Suspicious and giving then false hope and trying to keep them for few more months.
Mickey mouse game again, as they are hoping that some previous pliot who left may come back again, thus MK is now making their best to fail most of the guys for upgrade test.
I will leave this for all, to make their comments of the situation prevailing despite an increase in the packages

Ecomts 31st May 2011 12:57

Hmm

Went to the final stage of the interview for the Cadet Scheme but was unsuccessful at the end.

It was reported that some of the students selected by Air Mauritius at that time were struggling with the training and loads of failures.

This probably will give you an idea about the selection process at the company, whereby politically backed candidates are preferred over capable and talented ones.

In addition, those present at the interview showed their arrogance during the interview, when in fact they should be role-models for the future generation of employees.

I would definitely not look for a career in such a company.

Farting Sloth 10th Jun 2011 06:44

With all this cr@p that the crews have to apparently put up with at AM what kind of salaries for a new first officer on the buses are they talking about. With all the sh1t is it still worth applying?

cavortingcheetah 10th Jun 2011 07:29

Mauritius is an African country and is part of the SADC. (Southern African Development Community). The country might like to think of itself as a satellite of India. It might receive large amounts of petroleum products from India's ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) and it might have very strong trade links with China but when you fly for Air Mauritius you are working for an airline whose peer group lie on the continent to the west of the island country.
It's nice to see that it seems as though you can still find work with AM as an ex patriate but then again, perhaps life is more congenial flying for an airline in the Congo?
