T`he best Nigerian airline of the year!
ARIK AIR VS AIR NIGERIA
AEROCONTRACTOR VS CHANCHANGI DANA VS FIRST NATION Who's The best the bet's open!!!! |
Its the one that didn't have a major loss and paid its creditors.
No runners left? Ah well, better luck next year. |
That's like asking, "What is the best type of cancer to have?"
|
Bash Bash
Bang....
This thread is off to a great start, does it count if: The crew and staff actually got paid, on time, every month for a whole year, in full..... All flights actually left on the same calendar week as published. You got through Lagos customs and checkin in less than 5 hours, suppose that is just a country specific issue, no airline related.....narf C of E you are indeed correct, like which STD would you prefer......administered with or without vaseline :E |
Comparison?What Basis?
This is definitely a very big joke as theres no basis for these,
1.Arik=no ontime departures,no pay for crew upwards of two months with the affected crew in agreement so long as they keep chalking up time on NG type, which the management now accept, hence subsidized crew operations. 2.First Nation=Non Existent 3.DANA=Indian operations, try to be on time with very aged aircraft, couple of busted engines, real fear now is the expose on fake licensed crewmembers emanating from the Indian CAA,now guys you got to shine your eyes,Salaries not too late but as usual Indians work the crew till they drop. 4.Aero=Try to beat the clock, as always against all odds,Pay is regular, departures are everything but on time,Try to cover all schedules even if flights depart 6hours late,Another ageing fleet that keeps the engineers on thier toes,In house Operational Management thats been on the job for over 20years,developing A Work till you drop syndrome to impress the owners, A rolling stone,It All does not add up but keeps trudging, 5.Air Nigeria=Very well structured, tries to do the right things with so few=late departures, like Aero reluctant to cancel flights,A mass of Aged Boeings flying with MELs as the bible, reactive Management,Pay is dropping on time.Work till you drop syndrome, trying at all cost to have an Operational management with a human face and winining 6.Changchangi=Rogue Operations, have not paid thier Nigerian staffers for close to 2 years,a slave oriented ops thst plays on the poverty of its workers, operating with wet leased equipment from jordan, this is an abberation, better still,a travel agency fliying so as to retain its AOC. |
Still no mention of associated, overland and IRS airlines, are they also in contention or not among the "big boys"?
Usually in Nigeria all airlines are airlines of the year because they are given the award by different newspapers/organisations. PPRUNE should have a poll or something let's get the views of those in the system. |
1.Arik=no ontime departures,no pay for crew upwards of two months with the affected crew in agreement so long as they keep chalking up time on NG type, which the management now accept, hence subsidized crew operations. As far as I know the a340 crew have always been paid on time and aircraft serviced on time. |
Caverton are best!

Caverton are best! |
Best Nigerian airline CEO
With the recent incident in Lagos it becomes clear that its not possible to select a best airline, what may be more important is to select the best airline CEO.... one that listens to the his pilots, engineers and staff....
|
Gidigba,
your data on Aero is out of date, somewhat FLights are now above 75% on time - not like the december No flight more than 2 hours late Ageing fleet but younger airplanes on the way; they say Always 2 aircraft os standby, scheduled maint Crew only work 5 days a week. 4/5 sectors a day. Definitely not to impress owners. Pay is regular but still a week late |
I think they are all Just one peice of  but sliced/divided:ugh: to parts with the same nasty smell
|
do you work in Naija headbraker?
Your comments suggest you are just a bigot from afar who has views based purely on experiences from long ago or lazy research. On other threads you seem to have some personal agenda against Nigeria and Nigerians? Sure there are some poor CEO's, just as there are in other countries and continents, but there are a lot of staff below them who are highly professional and would be an asset anywhere. So how about showing some grown up respect in your posts instead of school yard name calling. |
Best CEO
The yardstick should be the best CEO. with this all other things fall in place. The only challenge is most CEOs are running the airlines under directives from the Chairman. The single owner issue is a show stopper and should be addressed by this "Big" John Obakpolor panel/committee. MHO

Atedo
You just drove the nail to the heart of the matter. This is one hidden and most serious problem facing aviation in Nigeria. |
Surely Not the man is one of us a proper Naija pilot Sir.... the poor guy just knows how to Rant and Rave.....used to work with us on this side of GA until just over a year or so ago me thinks his looking at flying B737 wing lets again.
Ignore that's all I can say... |

On other threads you seem to have some personal agenda against Nigeria and Nigerians? I've dealt with people from both ends of that spectrum and the experiences I've had with Nigerians, both inside and outside of Nigeria, mean that I never wish to set foot in that country again, nor to deal with people of that nationality in any context. Sad, but true. And if you want to call me a bigot or a racist for saying so ..... be my guest. |
I wouldn't say it in the same words as the original poster at whom this comment is directed, but I share his views. Whilst the majority of Nigerians are thoroughly decent and honourable people, there is a small minority who give the rest a really stinking reputation. Due to the generally high level of intelligence and education, it's often hard to work out who's genuine and who's not. I wouldn't say it in the same words as the original poster at whom this comment is directed, but I DON'T share his views. Whilst the majority of nationals from a 'Topmost' African nation are thoroughly decent and honourable people, there is a small minority (18%) who give the rest a really stinking reputation of high prevalence of HIV/AIDS. Due to the generally high level of intelligence and education, it's often hard to work out who's genuine (CLEAN) and who's not (DIRTY). I HAVEN'T dealt with people from both ends of that spectrum and the experiences I've had with citizens of this 'Topmost' country, both inside and outside of its borders, mean that I never wish to set foot in that country again, nor to deal with people of that nationality in any context - not even sharing a kiss with its cute ladies! Sad, but true. And if you want to call me a bigot or a racist for saying so ..... be my guest. |
Atedo, well said matey.
The management syndrome is a deep rooted disease in the Nigerian Aviation sector irrespective of the CEO's nationality. If they are not foreign crooks brought in to siphon money, they are simply clueless locals who clog things up and also siphon money in their own smart ways. Surely not, please let headbraker express his frustrations, whether he's Nigerian or not, i agree with most of his frustration primarily aimed at VK although i don't know his history with VK. You only need to agree with post 35 on this thread http://www.pprune.org/african-aviati...ts-strike.html to know that headbraker was coming from somewhere. |
Lmao, nitwit???? You guys don't even bother being nice
