Round the World by Airvan
 

I see that the Aussie GA8 Airvan chugging around the world has landed in Accra Ghana from Ascencion Island.
Next stop Entebbe, then Dar As Salaam before crossing to India via the Seychelles.

The Indigosat tracker shows that the MAM Airvan launched out of Accra at 14.00Z. At this time they seem to be a bit more than a third of the way to Entebbe. Total distance is just short of 2000 nauticals and about 17.5 hours. A long time to sit. Doing a bit of weaving by the look of it.

Wouldn't be so bad if the thing had a bit more leg room. That tiny rudder and short arc don't help much either. Flight adjustable rudder trim would be good.

The MAM flight is now in Dar As Salaam. The Accra - Entebbe leg seemed to take close on 20 hours. The will have blisters where they sit by now. I understand that the Airvan will have scheduled maintenance there before head to India via the Seychelles. By my count they are only one day behind the original schedule. Not bad for a month in the saddle.

Farewell to Africa for the MAM flight. According to the tracker the Aircraft was airborne out of Dar As Salaam bound for the Sheycheles at about 5:30 am Tanzania time. A short 9+ hour flight today.
The guys flew back to Uganda by RPT for a few days to further the malaria awareness aspects of the flight while the Airvan was being serviced at Dar. An interesting non-aviation post on the MAM website about this side trip.
