MD-11's in Cape Town
 

There was 2 grey MD-11 freighters at CPT today. Can anyone provide some info on the route/owners etc.

Where they not KC-10A extenders? The USAF modified DC-10 refuelling tankers? I see on another forum, some pics were posted of one sitting in CT recently.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However you answered me with a question and the bottom line is... I still don't know :confused: I thought they were MD11 freighters on route somewhere for a paint job maybe.

More than likely KC-10 Extenders.

Rumoured to be partaking in Exercise/Operation Good Hope between Germany and SA. Unusual if they are USAF.

They are definitely USAF - checked the markings yesterday - don't know enough to say what model they are tho!

Heard the tower controller clearing the "KC10" for takeoff yesterday

KC-10A Extenders from Mc Guire AFB, New Jersey.
