Hey guys.... would like to know where the KQ ab-initio trainees for 2012 will be going, Progress or 43???

andycapp 8th Jan 2012 17:01

It has got to be 43. Nearly all prior groups have gone to 43. But I'm not absolutely certain.

Elpheba 9th Jan 2012 09:09

Happy New Year people!! Hoping you're all well. Praying for the Best this Brand new Year. @Qenn Kibetu...I think it will be 43 but a reliable source tells me that Progress still has guys for KQ!!
Good luck to everyone who Applied for the Ab Initio program this year!! :ok:

2012 interviews

In my opinion I think the next batch will be coming to 43 air school, probably before end of the 1st quarter. That should mean that you will be starting your interviews any time from now. I would like to wish you all the best, and i hope to see you down south soon.

Am told kenya airways is in no particular hurry to recruit ab initio....its busy upgrading its captain crew......so patience is but our only weapon to this!!.....we gotta wait a hell longer

Chevchelios 13th Jan 2012 19:48

I'm finding it hard to believe that the HR department at KQ can't multi-task. Just because they are expanding their captain(s) crew does not mean they will sleep on the ab initio program. My best guess is the invitation for the interviews will come before the end of this month. If they do not then maybe you are right..

barbz 14th Jan 2012 09:31

Patience

Patience is key people!!some of us have had to learn about this the hard way!!!just keep praying and hoping!!Let us see if this is going to be 'the year!!'

cardinalv 23rd Jan 2012 17:17

We should remain calm and await the kq HR dept to do their job and only pray and hope for the best for us all.The uncertainities will end soon I hope.

paul kariuki 27th Jan 2012 03:40

hey guys. Lets remain calm till we get the interview invites. Hopes this our year to see our selves in the cockpit

cmuli 27th Jan 2012 06:16

how does the 24 months period apply? is it from the time you applied or the time you dropped out of the interview?

paul kariuki 27th Jan 2012 19:15

@cmuli I have a friend of mine who is a student at JKUAT. He applied and was invited for kq interviews but he did not go for the phsycometric test simply becausethe date for interview coincided with that one for his university exams. So after enquiring from kq they urged that once you dont show up for an invited interview, you just have to wait for 24 months to be over before re-applying. I am not so sure whether its true so anybody with useful information please assist. I am also praying that the interview day will not coincide with that for my exams. Lets keep hoping for the best

Its been like forever what is kenya airways upto?....'anyone?.....7months now

Elpheba 1st Feb 2012 09:31

Hey guys.

So KQ haven't emailed yet. Sigh.

I've been on this "almost a pilot" tip for a while now so... Now am doing something about it.

My family and I have managed to come up with most of the amount I need to attend Progress Flight Academy this month. The 21st. Already got in.

Currently applying for my Visa.

I wanted to wish you all the very best as you embark on what I can only describe as a once in a lifetime journey. Follow your dreams!!

Be blessed.

Chevchelios 1st Feb 2012 10:49

Or maybe KQ's done away with the ab initio program?

cardinalv 1st Feb 2012 17:15

To land to your dream career should just wait however long but should forge ahead with what we currently doing.Hopes never die fellow potential high fliers.

CAPT GOLF 2nd Feb 2012 04:16

Elpheba hw much is the whole course on personal sponsorship....i also want to take myself there......if kenya airways doesnt come through anytime soon!!

Elpheba 2nd Feb 2012 09:26

Guys am pretty sure KQ hasn't scrapped it's AB Initio course so sit tight. It may not happen now....but it'll happen.

@Capt. Golf It costs a little under 5.5Ksh And that's until you're at the Frozen Atpl level. Plus Airfare, medicals, Visa etc.
