A330

hi can somebody please direct me or help me find out where to send my resume for the A330 position?:)

july66 10th Aug 2009 12:05

Brookfield Aviation; [email protected]

Frappucino 14th Aug 2009 14:18

I received an email for the screening ...

1 hour sim, hand flying, NPA engine fail AP off / other seat emergencies; engine fail in cruise green dot strategy, emer descent init, dual FMGC fail / recover, unreliable speed recover in cruise. Interview, plus some technical queries.

hmmm. dual fmgc failure ... unreliable airpeed, sounds tougher that most screenings. I never failed a single flight test or exam before, but now I think I need to review some material.

Giggey 15th Aug 2009 12:37

Hi guys
Any more news about the selection process? what about the interview?
how many pilots they need on 320 and how's the company in general to work for? more expats or locals flying?

thanks in advance

Sitting Bull 16th Aug 2009 15:16

Dear Frappucino

Good idea to prepare for an interview...ANY interview!!!

The interview is not worse than interviews for A330´s in other companies and quite frankly, if a Capt. or F/O is not able to do this check even without preparation he has no business being in an A330.

See you in the Sim

kikoamaya 17th Aug 2009 01:35

Hello
I have the screening on Thursday, i think we are going to be 12 f/o, 4 each day, does anyone knows how many f/o are they looking for? Is it also a Capt. screening?
Rgds.

kikoamaya 17th Aug 2009 01:37

Frapuccino are you a Captain or a Firs officer?

Duh 17th Aug 2009 12:20

I tryd lookng at all post here. What are housing like for Afriqiah. I here they give you a hotel to live in. Good hotel?
What are 320 nightstops, Afrika or europe?

Thxs,

cheers

Mister Geezer 17th Aug 2009 22:36

Hotels in Libya can vary greatly and their star grading system can be rather flexible at times. Do your homework.

319/320 nightstops exist in Dubai, London and some in Africa too.

Giggey 18th Aug 2009 11:56

Anybody in Brux for the 26-27 interview?

cheers

A330 delivery dates

First aircraft delivered mid-August I believed.
Now what are the rumours regarding the 2nd and 3rd A330 delivery dates ??

quintana 24th Aug 2009 19:03

Future pilot of Afriqiyah

Dear colleagues

I would like to know things to do in Tripoli, because I´ll be there in one month and I have never been there.
Some GYM; any sports to practice.

Probably other pilots and I will rent a house, Someone knows about a great zone, near the airport, to rent a house with pool or something similar.

Thank you all.

Sitting Bull 24th Aug 2009 20:31

What rumours?

The first 330 is flying every day, the second is scheduled to arrive in about 2 weeks and the 3rd around the end of September but that can change by a week or two.

laic 25th Aug 2009 08:22

S.B.,
Yes I stood to be corrected on my last posting.
First line should have read "So, first aircraft was delivered mid-August". Next time around, after a long night haul, I'll rest then post and not the other way around. Tks !

Sitting Bull 25th Aug 2009 19:09

Dear laic

No problem whatsoever :)

Dear qintana

There is a gym near our hotel, nicely equipped if your into serious training and reasonably priced. Not much else around except in the Korintia hotel but the facilities there are extremely expensive.

As for renting something: I suggest to think twice about it as there is not really any nice area in Tripolis and you will be lost trying to get anything done. Stay in the hotels, at least they take good care of you.

Leboeuf 14th Sep 2009 09:07

news ?

It seems very calm now on the Afriqiyah side.
Is the A320 recruitment completed ?
Tks

july66 14th Sep 2009 13:20

I'm waiting for the dates of next screenings at the end of this month. Brookfield Aviation arranged for me and apparently all candidates on behalf of Afriqiyah. I'm not sure how many vacancies still exist but if you contact Chris or Felicity at Brookfield you may be in with a chance.

Leboeuf 14th Sep 2009 20:23

tks July66,
I am on std by with them since last month and was wondering if something was moving ...
tks

elpilotofrances 21st Nov 2009 22:16

see afriqiyah crew in JNB in the morning .... was leaving at night Minimum rest
sound good !

Harlem 1st Dec 2009 07:32

Does anyone know if Afriqiyah are looking for 330 crews nowadays? Do they do only through brookers or there are any chance to get a direct contract with them?

july66 1st Dec 2009 10:08

We all work through Brookfield Aviation. I'm not sure if they are still recruiting - nobody new has arrived here in TIP for the last two or three weeks, but the only pilots directly employed are Libyans. All the expats come through Brookfield.

Harlem 1st Dec 2009 10:27

Thanks a lot July66.

Could you tell me anything about the conditions, rostering, live in Tripoli...

Fell free to PM to me.

Thanks again

Arik 1st Dec 2009 11:25

What percentage of pilots would you think are Libyans? I presume CC are all Libyan nationals? Does Libyan Airlines recruit expats too?

Arik
