Type rating on L-100

Hi,

Does somone know where I could get a type rating on a L-100 "C-130"? I applied for Transafrik for a Helcules job, but got no responce out of it. I think I will go and see them first and see what they say, but at the mean time I would like to find out where and how much money I would have to spend to get trained on a L-100. I'm based in South Asia, if that helps.

Thanks for your help

Why don't you talk to Safair and see what their costs for training would be. They operate several L100s all over the world.

For what it's worth, it's not an "L-100" rating, or at least it isn't anywhere I've been. The aircraft type is L382. That's the type designator which is used for certification of both aircraft and airmen.

I can't really explain why Lockheed also used the name "L-100". It confuses a lot of people. We frequently get asked if it's an L-100 or an L382, or what the difference between the two are. There is no difference, it's two names for the same thing. But if you get a type rating for it, it's going to say L382 on your certificate.

Correct. My license also endorsed with L382
