Basic is just 500hrs, SA CPL and SA Citizen.
Reality is 2500hrs+, ATP written, turbo-prop/Jet time, and multi crew experience. They seem to like ex-airline type experience e.g. Airlink, SAX, Executive Aerospace, Apronwide etc.
There is currently a recruitment ban, the intake of november will be the last for a few months.
Good luck.

Okay great info thanks !!
Whatīs that South Africa Citizenship thing, is a residency/work permit good ?
Also : what recruitment ban ? Did they just pause interviews for a while or are we talking ban as in industrial action ?

The citizenship issue is more about keeping South Africans in jobs. As there are no training bonds, it does not make sense to train foreigners, and then have them leave for greener (sandier) pastures.
The hiring ban is an internal company policy to reduce costs, there is no industrial element. Interviews will probably restart when they are ready to employ again.
Apparently, we are getting rid of 20% of management, but those are likely to be our only job loses for the near future.
