Libya/Flying for Sirte Oil Company

Today a F28 is flying Tripoli-Marsa Brega, but will be E170 as per next year. Can anybody help updating me? What type of operation, what's Marsa like to be stationed there? Anybody flying in Libya? Living in Libya (as a pilot)? Thanks guys.

Hi mate I fly in Libya with a maltaese company. It is great, we stay in tripoli but some times we stay at the oilfileds it is not bad at all, flying wise it is very relaxed, Staying in Brega is pretty good, you do all your flying in the morning and also I belive Sirti oil has about three flts a week. you can pm if you need anymore info.

Hi Aggie,
thanks, I do have some more questions: some report on the net from staff in Brega (teacher, 3 years ago) describes the place as cockroach infested, full of fumes, etc...on Google Earth it looks rather dull. Can you move freely around there (eg. offroad motorbike) or is one stuck in the place? Possibly will be based there 28/28 off/on. How's Libya generally, walking on eggs like Saudi Arabia or more like Dubai? I would be giving up a good job, so I rather check it out before..Thanks again for the help.:)
