Racism in South African Aviation as a whole

Jetdriver, why lock it, why not delete it all together?, would make a lot more sense, sensorship should be done completely, not half witted?:ok:

napoleon 11th Sep 2006 06:18

Sensorship is opression just like some forms of racism

AVSEC 11th Sep 2006 16:08

I work with South Africans within Aviation, and must state categorically that the people I have worked with have been professional, and a good laugh with Local west Africans I have seen them work with.

For the record I have not seen racism against my colleagues within Ghana and Nigeria where I have had the priviledge to work or hang out with South African aviation professionals.

european champion 12th Sep 2006 09:03

They r racist indeed,i think about 9 out of 10 of them are racist but its because they had appartheid ruling for many years so its still in their blood,i believe as the country is moving to democracy the last few years they will slowly become less racist,it will still take a few generations though.

skyvan 12th Sep 2006 09:10

For goodness sake, give it a rest :ugh:

AVSEC 12th Sep 2006 09:37

sorry European champion but I believe you can only speak from your personal experience and not mine. The white south africans I have met proffessionally within Aviation and on immigrational issues have been professional, and have been a great laugh when we have hung out socially.
This is 2006 so lets be realistic and honest.

windycorner 12th Sep 2006 09:38

I agree - Put a lid on it Euro......
Clearly you are naive and ignorant.

divinehover 12th Sep 2006 10:28

It's idiots like Euro that would turn me into the racist i never was.

international hog driver 12th Sep 2006 10:49

I'm not racist.

I hate everyone equally.

The most racist people I have ever meet were not white, they discriminated all of their personal and business decisions based upon the other persons creed.

If you ever work in some parts of Africa and the Middle East you will see it every day.

The people who generally get their panties in a bunch over racism, have never experienced discrimination other than what they have read in a book or seen on TV and are the ones who try and dumb down out standards so that its fair for everyone.

Making decisions from environmentally controlled offices, before they go and get lunch at a resturant and then take clean and available public transport back to their own home.

Well life is not fair,

Try explaining to a woman with 3 kids & no support, that live under a tree on the side of the runway, that has not seen a bath since 2004, wearing rags that they cant have another bottle of water or bag of grain from the back of the plane that is chockers......

Because the guy in the above paragraph has made his decision that you dont meet the standard of being racially oppressed....in between his latte and gluten fee sandwich.

Seen it, have the tee shirt..... which i gave to the woman.

AVSEC 12th Sep 2006 13:21

International hog driver, very emotional story. So u are like Huff,Cracker and clint eastwood all rolled into one.The reluctant commentator on social ills.Give us a break. There are places in Asia,Europe,America, where what you described can be seen.
Dont make the mistake with confusing the poverty stricken, with racially dominated class.:ugh:
In fact I agree, this should be closed as a thread:eek:

nugpot 12th Sep 2006 15:18

Off course SA aviation is racist. White males can't get into SAA or the cadet program.... :E

napoleon 12th Sep 2006 17:22

Racism is as natural as beathing and thats a fact of life otherwise why do they have to make laws to try to prevent it.

B Sousa 12th Sep 2006 17:32

"In fact I agree, this should be closed as a thread"

So typical when things dont go your way here........Cry foul to the Mods.

Dont worry the Sensitivity Patrol will axe it soon enough.

6-String 12th Sep 2006 18:43

Many years ago, the Scope Magazine's editor used to cover womens nipples with stars, lest we see them. That doesn't mean that women don't have nipples..!

napoleon 12th Sep 2006 19:35

6-String Quite profound that my friend and very pithy.

windycorner 13th Sep 2006 05:12

For heavens sake

Will someone just erase this thread......

To all the above....Go to church, confess or bend your wife over the kitchen sink......anything, but cause momentum to Racial issues in aviation regardless of whether they exist or not.

napoleon 13th Sep 2006 06:55

As previously quoted: Even though the stars cover the nipples they are still there, like it or not.

putt for dough 13th Sep 2006 07:18

Blah blah.....
Haven't we all had enough of this topic yet?
Or do we dwell on all the negatives that none of us can do
nothing about:uhoh:

napoleon 13th Sep 2006 11:49

All I was stating was my opinion on the above thread.
I think your posting Napoleon was uncalled for. What happened
did your skip wrap you over the knuckles for loosing
the glideslope this morning? Whatever your pathetic reason
is, there was no need to get personal with me, if you wanna
get personal, go get personal with your dog :ugh:
