Aviation salaries

Isn't it about time that the aviation industry falls in line with the rest of the labour force? The tea girl in our office earns more than a qualified commercial pilot, and is even protected by law from being financially compromised by unscrupulous employers. I think that this situation is completely untenable and should be revised. Any ideas?

It'll never happen as long as pilots are prepared to fly for nothing and pay for their own ratings.:(

Agreed, SRT has it in a nutshell

it's all relative - just imagine how many cups of tea she serves in a day - and there's you just flying one plane:D

Yeah, and there's often even another guy there to help you! How much easier can it get! :)

Do you think her tea cups are worth millions of dollars?:}

SRT has said it all!

Its market dynamics that dicate salary levels. As long as SAA doesnt hire pilots from other airlines in South Africa the recruitment cycle will never turn over in the other segments of aviation as everyone moves to fill the spaces. Question is how long will it go on for?
