Anyone know what those three (at last count) Il76s are doing at Lanseria?

Was overflying LIV and saw how two of them pretty much filled up the apron. What're they doing there?
Cheers,Cb

Yeah, probably flying for the SAAF. Heard them drunkin' bastards plenty of times under LMG callsigns.....

LMG IL76 left this morning for the North. CC you definitely wouldn't have seen them this morning, what with all that cloud!!!! Everybody all over the place looking for a gap.

This might actually belong on the African Airports/Pax thread, but mark my words....

I have found this to be quite true on my travels, what do you think?

Show me one SUCCESSFUL country where Russian aircraft are allowed to operate, and the good ol' AK47 is in abundance.

It almost goes hand in hand: AK47-Russian Aircraft= ****hole.....

MAKEAPULLUP,was transiting the FALA CTR for FAGM,7500ft-we were about 200ft below cloudbase!

Anyone seen the film "Lord of War' with Nicholas Cage...shot in SA with an An-12,all about gun smuggling...aaaaah,i love africa!

No seriously,i doubt there was funny business involved here,Just unusual to see three on what is really not such a busy widebody airfield.

Two are adagolds aircraft working for the saaf, YL-LAJ and YL-LAK, the other is an Algerian Airforce Aircraft 7T-WIP. I will post photos later

the 2 IL's are operating on a SAAF charter to bring vehicles from Burundi back to SA as the operation is winding down in Burundi. Saw an AN-124 (Antonov Airlines's one) also bringing back Samils and Casspirs from HBBA the other day.
