Thanx for the news MB Driver,

It was 15 Sqn Durban where Eric was previously the Commanding Officer. He later did a tour at the Forward Air Command post Durban, before returning to AFB Durban as the Base Efficiency Officer. When last I saw him he was with Slade and the gang at Starlight; so not sure what he is up to in Dubai.

He was always a pleasure to work with, and somehow had the gift of getting the best out of those who served under him. In my circles anyway he was certainly respected and looked up to.

Please send regards, and Get well soon wishes anyone who is nearby.

Regards

MP :ok:

I was fortunate to be at 15 Sqn with Eric as OC. He is now with NAC Contracts. On his way back to SA when his heart attacked him at DXB. Heard he is improving and should be on his way home soon.

Many thanks for all the good wishes. Visited the specialist he described me as a "highly tuned athlete who is cleared to leap over tall buildings and catch bullets in my teeth" Was very well looked after in Dubai had visits from Stony Steenkamp and his wife, Roger Mileham and then entertained by Dave Upfold and Bert Robertson. Thanks for the time and trouble.
