PPrune BASH / roofwetting

The Kennel Keeper invites all members in the Cape Town area to a bash at the Delta 200 airfield on Saturday 8 January from 2 pm.

We are celebrating the start of a new Warbird facility recently erected and wish to wet the roof with all our friends. (We also have new toys to show )

Please bring a chop & a dop and we will throw in some goodies.

Francois may even bring some of his home made wine which he says is too strong to sell legally??

The new hangar has been erected near the Skydive hangar.
Follow west coast road from Blouberg past koeberg and first dirt road right after Koebeg gate has a white board with an arroplane on it. Go there till you see some hangars. First road right after skydive club and straight on.

If you are too done to get home we will arrange for the guys next door to meat bomb you home!!!

Kennel Keeper 5th Jan 2005 18:18

Should you not rather ask "What beer do you have"

Then come drink some and see for yourself!

Vaalies are also welcome

Delta 200

Geez Kennel Keeper, wish I could be there. Used to fly there for a long time. Was still involved when the Skydivers moved from Stellenbosch to the Delta 200. If you have a chance tell Anton Scalabrino hi from me.
:ok:

Eddie, Andrew, et al

Many thanks for a great afternoon :ok:

There was even a big contingent from a known 'worrybird' operator :}

Gunns, Francois' brew went down well, but then you already know that.

Wishing you guys all the best with the warbird restortions.

Thanks for all Andrew, Joel, Eddie & Co.

Was really nice meeting you all, and best of luck with the project. It sure seems that there's going to be alot of "warbird" fun around the Cape skies in due course.

All the facilities are really nice, and best of luck to you all. Next time I visit, I'll come along in the Cubby.:ok:

See you again soon.:D

Gunship 15th Jan 2005 05:54

Nice meeting you again Eddie :ok:

Good luck with that "Harvard with a nose wheel" ..

See ... I was not too pi$$ed (By Fox Mike) as I could remember.

Sorry I did not greet you as I thought we are going to eat together :ok:

Take care and all the very best of luck with the restoration(s)

ANY warbird restoration project should follow closley the Thread regarding the Museum Seizure on the Campfire. Its going to have some serious consquences throughout the country...

Kennel Keeper 16th Jan 2005 17:32

Welcome to the discussion Bert.

Regrettably the guns from this collection were confiscated in a big raid held by no less than 27 odd police cars and the minister himself believing a big stash of BIG DANGEROUS weapons with live ammo was hidden on the site at Northgate in Joburg.

There were in fact some .50 Brownings ex Sabre F86's and 20 mm ex Hueys and T33's. The guys did report them and tried to get someone to disarm them as they had live rounds rusted in the breeches for 20 years and all the big mouth catapult mechanics were too **** scared to touch them.

Problem now they are destroyed and the weight and balance of the F86's I heard cannot be sorted without the guns?

If someone decides to attack Sefrica though we will probably be able to defend the country better with the warbirds in private collections better than the Scareforce as they have no pilots, serviceable aircraft and fuel budget is low!!!

Come for a beer next time you are in CT
