Missing/Wanted person
 

A few years back I had the pleasure (at the time) of dealing with a guy called "Archie Verwey" who ran a small company in JNB restoring Tigermoths.

The deal went bad (long story), the guy went missing and quite a few people suffered financially (millions) including myself.

Life goes on - but I would love to be able to track this character down for a little chat.
Last known whereabouts in the seychelles last year, with a warrant for arrest pending for fraud in RSA.

Any ideas or thoughts appreciated.......its a small world when it comes to aviation unless he has become a pig farmer in Liberia.

I fail to understand how these "conmen" can get away with so much? It appears that these guys have the knack to rip off good ol honest aviation enthusiasts each time.

Verwey is not a real uncommon name. If you have been serious you should have more items such as ID number, Birthdate etc. If you have these things drop me an email and we shall see ........I know there are a few in the states and some in Amsterdam just by a brief check. Need to isolate things a bit. If he is still breathing air he can be found.

Wasn't Archie Verwey involved with the Strecher brothers at Rand Airport? If you know how to contact them, maybe they would have some clues as to his current whereabouts.

I came across no pig farmers in Liberia, just been there, especially one called Verwey. There was a mushroom farmer called BS Champion though.....(sorry I missed you Gunns.)

Thanks for the remarks.... I guess a pig in liberia has value, unlike the character i was referring to - so sorry to associate the two.
As for a fox - seen that one too on my travels.......

Anyway - any pointers would be appreciated if they lead to the discovery of this unsavoury human being.

:O Windycorner........Archie is in South Africa. In JHB in fact. He is on honeymoon right now. He got married on Saturday October 2, 2004, right here in good ol SA.

It will be days, then you will know exactly where he is. Trust me!;)

If the cyber police could track down Gary Fox, then I'm sure they can track down Archie as well.:D :ok:

"cyber police" seem to be far more effective than a warrant for arrest from the good old SA police force.

Fingers were crossed the last time i did this post, and there were some leads in the hunt for this character that ripped of fellow aviators and myself for millions (4-5 in total) of rand.

So here i am again in the hope that one of you has some info that will give this story a happy ending.

Outstanding warrant for arrest pending....for fraud.

Last known to have been married somewhere in SA in the last few mths.

Heard a rumour he has been arrested in Angola awaiting extradition to RSA. He sold his fancy Toyota (unpaid at ABSA ) for cash and was nabbed for car theft?
