Anyone currently flying at hka willing to share some info?
Typical roster?
Is the F. O. salary liveable for a family of four?
Time to command?
General feel of the company, would you recommend it?
Thanks

More information...about HKG Airlines. goto fragrant harbor... a lot information about the HKA. Voeltjie... its going to be very hard. HKG is most expensive city to live in. You are going to send you kids to international primary schools be prepare aleast R313.571.. per year per kid. average.. plus other cost the school going to charge with..ex.school outings, books, uniform, if you want a fast track or guarantee place (becasue places are limited at all schools.) fork out a debenture of R3,019,465 otherwise get in line. just gooogle hong kong schools and homes for rent. then decided.

A 19,4 square meter flat just sold for
1 million US dollars in HKG. It's a new record.

Have a really good look at the cost of living in HK.
They will tell you they are paying a compediative salary and benefits. They come to that idea by comparing money paid. What they don’t tell you is it will barely get you a 700sqf’ apartment out in a Chinese Village in the New Territories.
Do your home work and ask the right questions.
Without a proper housing allowance you will struggle to survive in HK.
The salary on offer will not afford a family of six any form of quality of life you have grown up with and expect.
The local schools are cheap but generally not conducted in English. International schools all have debentures to get in. On top of high school fees there are capital levies etc imposed on each child. Even the ESF schools now charge for debentures.
You need to ask the road show host what size house they live in and what housing deal they are on. When they can’t answer you know they are on proper ex-pat terms. This is what you will not be offered.
At the end of the day come prepared with all the tough questions. Do your homework. You will find out it is not what all the companies are making it out to be. With that you can make an informed decision on whether it is right for you.

You will find hard to get any ID90 travel or any ID travel with Hong Kong Airlines. One of my friends ask the chief pilot about staff travel and Id travel.. he went quiet and mumbled something. then he changed the subject very quickly. Africa is a LONG way from hong kong.. if you are commuting good luck.. there is replied about hong Kong on SCOOT singapore.. below this forum..
