Observation (not any insult),
Wanting to work in Africa is all good and well but unless you have done what others have to get their gig and actually show up at the hangar are two very different things.
That difference is what employers in Botswana and Namibia etc are looking for - so get over there because I haven't met a serious employer there looking for low time pilots to knock about their 172/182/206/210 in commercial ops in Africa anywhere on PPRUNE.
Why would a good outfit trawl through a pprune thread to find a sub 500 hour pilot when there are dozens in country looking for jobs, speaking to those that have them and speaking to those that could employ them?
If you think this PPRUNE thread is an employment agency that by posting numbers increases your "street cred" then your teasing yourself MORE then hoping it will lead to a job.
Pull your fingers out, get in country and throw your name about. There is already PLENTY of advice around not just PPRUNE but the net to finding your first job in Africa with pay and accom details (its sorted out when your there, if your too worried about what your bed is like then don't go!).
If I could do it with a bit of hard work anyone bloody can. Just don't expect numbers on a PPRUNE thread to gift you a "oh yes please come here! I'll even give you 4 shined weekly bars to wear while your on your 182 intro, a Queen size bed and a busty, blonde Swed to massage you to sleep!"

This thread is something of a compromise. Personally, I think it only serves two purposes. Firstly, it provides a farming resource for spammers and other address collectors. Secondly, it is a repository for all the similiar posts that would otherwise clutter up the forum. I don't disagree with some of the "usefulness" comments, however if it serves a perception of usefulness, then that is fine.
I have always thought that an employer worth working for, would be one who could afford to place an advertisement without violating the site rules on advertising. In other words if they can't afford an advert, what would make somebody feel they were likely to be a quality employer? To that end we don't permit the practice, and are quick to dissolve any breaches as they arise.
For people wishing to place their own details, I doubt it is likely to serve any useful purpose, but provided they are reasonably circumspect with regard to those details, there is little chance of any harm resulting.
There are only one or two forums on the site that permit this type of thread. I am not sure that will continue in the future, but for the meantime.....

A caravan is 1000hrs here in Maun, give or take a few hours depending on how short of van drivers they are.
They aren't actually that hard to handle to be honest. The hardest thing about them is engine management. Even that is pretty simple. They are docile and forgiving.
As for King Airs, not too sure, buddy of mine went onto them as a FO with just over 1000hrs.
