I'm sorry, i must be a lousy googler.... is there an FAA medical examiner in Maun? Or anywhere in Africa, in Swakopmund maybe?
Oh, and since you're already reading this: with only 235 TT on the log, does it make sence for me to show up in Maun in the first place?

And as for what I've read here on the forums and internet, your chances are really low with this amount of hours, anything less than 400-500 your options are low.

Until late last year there was only one Botswana medical examiner in Maun!!!
I know one of the pilots a with FAA medical went to Johannesburg to renew their medical. Definitely no FAA medical examiners here.

I'm sorry, i was being too hasty.... do you actually need an FAA medical certificate to work as pilot in those countries? Or do they have their own standards and examiners?

Probably not the best way to start your career in Africa, if you don't bother to read the threads and dig information mate, this has been said in multiple post around this thread and also written in some websites, so my recommendation take your time, read everything even it's back to 2000, this will help you to understand your chances, what you need, what to expect, everything... and then if something is not there shoot the question.

You can do your FAA medical renewals at Dr. Jordaan in Windhoek.
By the way if someone wants to know the nearest EASA AME is Dr. Nick Lee in Simons town near Cape Town in South Africa. Did my renewals there. He sends the forms to the UK CAA and prints out a new medical for you.
Plus a good excuse to visit the beautiful Cape.
With less than 500 hours rather try namibia as there are no minimum hour restrictions.

DO NOT let a doc touch your FAA MEDICAL unless you personally know them or have vetted them, they screw that up it's could cost you thousands, or worse.
I'd just use your FAA medical over there and renew to a local medical when needed, it would be a cold day in hell before I let a doc, or anyone, in Windhoek access my medexpress forums.

I'm not sure that I would say the C206 is being replaced. If anything, the operators are expanding by acquiring more airvans, but the C206's are not being phased out. From my current spot in the office I can see more C206's parked on the apron than airvans.
The numbers of each type of aircraft are constantly changing, but as a rough guideline of who operates what types:

Kavango Air: C172, C206, GA8
Mack Air: C206, GA8, C208, Kodiak
