It is appalling the way the airlines delay or reschedule flights; sometimes without notice to passengers. It is unfair to us," said Mr. Joe A.

A340 Parked at LHR
Anyone know why A340-500 has been parked at LHR since last weekend?
Looks like they are running a B738 LHRLOS at the moment which is full but still have availability on ALHRABV!

Late Payment
Hi Guys,
I've followed this forum for a while now and Arik is still flying, although it's looked like it was going to go bust for year's now with all the late payments.
Has knowbody considered that the late payments especially of pilots is just part of the business plan? If the company was in dire strights it should have gone under a long time ago.
There are lots of ATPL frozen guys out their who would probably take a job at Arik for free to build hours. A wage of say $7500 a month three months late is just a bonus if it comes.
Work on this every pilot is owed three months wages (Minimum say $22500) and 10 pilots a month leave never to see their money again thats a saving to Arik of $225000 a month or $2,7 million a year. And the new guys still line up for a hour building job.
Also I'm sure if the accounts were available the books would show that all pilots that depart Arik have been paid. With their wages going directly into a certain individuals pocket.
Just a thought from an interested observer of the forum.

nobody asked the question
allAfrica.com: Nigeria: Arik Air Suspends Services to Johannesburg
Arik Air said it was temporarily suspending all flight operations between Lagos, Nigeria and Johannesburg, South Africa with immediate effect.
The decision to suspend the daily B737-800 service between the two financial hubs was taken due to the ongoing dispute between international airlines operating into Johannesburg and Port Health authorities over yellow fever documentation being presented to authorities at OR Tambo International Airport by passengers. Many of the passengers have been detained and refused entry into the country in recent months.
Port Health authorities cited the reasoning as being incorrect or unrecognised batch numbers on the documentation, which is a mandatory proof before entrance to the country.
The situation has escalated, culminating in hundreds of Nigerian and other West African passengers travelling from the region being refused entry, including 50 passengers who travelled on Arik Air on March 2.
Arik said the irregular nature of this protocol was having a negative impact on its passengers and did not wish to proceed with operations into a country where its customers are at risk of being detained or any other measures meted out arbitrarily by the authorities.
Arik Air's vice president, South and Central Africa, Rodger Whittle, has been attempting to secure an answer for the decision to refuse 50 of its passengers entry into the country, but the head of South African Port Health authorities has refused to speak to the head of operations for the airline, according to report

well, S.A has apologized to Nigeria for the mass deportation. I don't know which airline would continue to send passengers to a country where they are immediately denied entry and deported back. Sounds like a good decision by Arik to temporarily suspend. Can't fault them for looking out for passengers in this particular instance.

Sounds like there is an epidemic of bogus vaccination certificates.
Or maybe a lot of bogus vaccine. Neither would be much of a surprise in Nigeria.
Full marks to the SA Border Agency for spotting the scam.
