@Captain GG

The mail states that I should be at Pride center (Pride 2 Building) by 11:00am for a briefing then the test. So I reckon we should start the test at 11.30am thereabouts, by then your group should be done. I do have a pal who is in your 10am group.

All the best

Thanks for the clarification Dopeboy! Looks like its a short timed exercise. They told me to check in at 9:30 so that i start at 10:00. I wish you all the best too!

@ Nickmory and the other guys who did psychomotor on 4th:
How long did it take? Can you give us a possible breakdown of the various sections on Pilapt and what you did. Thanks in advance.....:-)

@captainGG unfortunately nickmory is in no position to comment as he has been banned but anyone else who sat for the tests could share their experience.

@brainy, don't lose hope as long as your application is still active, you are still in it. You may have been scheduled for nextweek

Psychomotor Call.

Hey guys. I got the call at 1043hrs for Friday the 7th at 1300hrs. My friend who did the test yesterday with the 1300hrs group told me that there were several power black outs and 3 of the 7 computers in his room didn't have UPSs so their tests kept getting interrupted. This has forced them to be called in on Tuesday the 11th for a re-sit. So for those who haven't been called yet, there is still some hope for next week.

Keep the hope alive. All the best future aviators!

Arrow REQUIREMENTS

Hello guys,
I wanted to ask about the KCSE grades, do they call you back if you don't meet the grades..for math, chemistry, physics or even the mean grade itself.
If you have a degree, but don't meet the academic requirements(KCSE) are you eligible?
Has anyone tried applying and got a call back?

@psera:Requirements

W#hen it comes to requirements, KQ is very, very strict about them.
We've seen graduates turned away on the interview day for not having the degree certificate , yet they have graduation slips and transcripts.

We've seen (several) people get turned away because they failed the height test requirement of 5"4. And mark you, they had university degrees on them.

In that light...If you haven't met the minimum requirements, don't risk it. Its' not worth the frustration it will take you through as one can get very attached to the process emotionally. And in your case, this may be a roller coaster ride with a sad ending. Trust me on this.

"Minimum" Requirements

KQ pilot recruitment is still very retrogressive! They require AB Initio applicants to have degrees yet still demand o level qualifications, so one wonders what purpose the degree serves!

Most world class legacy airlines start their interviews from the psychometric testing and give priority to degree holders. But just like most things in this country mediocrity reigns supreme! Unless KQ reviews it's recruitment methodologies it will forever suffer self inflicted pilot shortage!

Couldn't agree more with you lad.

K.A wouldn't accept anyone even if they hold a PHD in aviation!

Basic rule for them is KCSE grades matters most! FULLSTOP!

I wonder if someone lets say holds 3,000TT ,TR on 767 with 800hrs PIC on the a/c and holds ATPL but had a D grade on their KCSE will still get the boot from K.A! Wouldn't surprise me!

Unless K.A changes its recruitment process it will lag behind and hurt them most coz other regional carriers e.g ET are opening bases and hubs all over Africa in a rapid pace!

Updates

Hi, guys...just thought I should help with a few clarifications.
The psychomotor test stretches several of your abilities to max...all at once. for example, concentration in monitoring constantly changing environment, multitasking, observation, hand-eye coordination etc...all racing against time.
Career connections had scheduled for a group of 7 or 8 candidates to take the test every hour...approximately 8 groups per day. The whole test runs for a minimum of 30 minutes to about an hour depending on how fast you are at grabbing the instructions. Psychomotor test is on for 3 days i.e. Tuesday 4th, Friday 7th and Tuesday 11th of March...KQ should have all the results by Wednesday next week and contact the successful candidates within the week (next week)
Does anyone have any heads up on how medicals are done...how thorough they get...probably dates?!?!

I think the O level minimum grades are put in place just to cut down the number of applicants, nothing much. If it were not so, KQ would be overflowing with torrents of applications, impairing there selection process. Otherwise, my application still reads active, yet I only did aptitudes. Fill me in, i.e.have I been knocked out, or should I still be hopeful of progression of the interviews, because am learning now that guys are now at the psycho -motor stage...

Actually gear up job, from what i've gathered thus far, if you have 2700hrs TT, your high school grades are not considered in the process and you are not required to do the aptitude test...as mentioned in DEP forum.

just my 2 bob's worth.

Thanks lad for the clarification. That's swell to hear and point taken.

With the 2700hrs TT would single engines do or some have to be multi and jet.

If Multi and jet how many?

Cheers lad.
