@Puma Engine

If that be the case, then it'll be very interesting (I hope so) to see guys that the HR have turned down being brought back to the fold

totally out

hey guys,,after the long wait that spanned for almost an year all that i did was just but mess up at the aptitudes and got my regret mail yesterday that is suicidal upon getting it in your inbox..
but i wont quit without some warning words..guys as you move up the hierarchy of those interviews,your passion and anxiety over the outcome hit their all time high,but i take heart to tell you this,always expect a 50/50 outcome otherwise you will be left pitying yourself after the rude shock,,
i feel i messed up by constantly mailing the hr whenever they delayed contacting me e.g for the aptitudes and the psychometric,now i agree with you puma engine about the night technocrats,could they have axed me because of my constant impatience because i don't i think i so much messed up at the aptitudes to warrant a regret?
kudos guys as you move on with your interviews..
trying hard to clear this mess out of my mind.......

edu88 the impatience (Lemmi call it nagging) could have contributed a lot to the regret mail. The only remedy to it was an exemplary performance at the aptitudes. But you know what edwin, that was just another dead dream of its kind. Forget about it, it's a done deal not worth recalling. Don't recall the questions you blew up.

Aerodrifter, I doubt if the technocrats will provide any redudancy to guys turned down by HR's office. Why should the technocrats take time with people who have issues with HR's office. Most likely such people did not burst the minimums. The recruitment policy is not in their favor. I'm mindful that some people did not have there academic papers in order.

Take heart comrade. One incidence shouldn't dampen your soul. If you are still below the higher age limit, you can try again. If flying is your passion, you'll find other means of actualizing it.
All the BEST.

NOCTURNAL TECHNOCRATS!

There's no 'nocturnal technocrats' working behind the scenes to select who makes it or not! The pilot recruitment process involves third parties like Department of Defence who carry out the height measurements and aptitude test, they the mark and assess the results which they hand over to KQ HR. Career connections administers the psychometric and psychomotor analyis which they also handover to KQ HR, medicals is carried out by a combination of KQ clinicians and independent aero medical examiners and results forwarded to KQ HR, flight tests (for DEP) is carried out in the B737 NG simulator at the KQ pride centre by KQ instructors and assessment forwarded to HR. Finally, the oral interview is handled by the Chief Pilot, Director of FlOps, One fleet manager and HR Relationship manager in-charge of FlOps, This is the team that decides who gets in and who gets a regret.

Sending enquiries to HR might be irritating to them but it does not disqualify you from the process, selection is solely based on performance and attitude.

Good luck folks

Like they always say, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Its good to have hopes but at the same time, lets limit our expectations since anything is bound to happen. This process is competitive and the recruiting team is rigorous when it comes to selection. They're only interested in the cream and not the milk. The good thing is that we all have our degrees. Why don't we capitalize on that? They're many ways to catch a rat, and ab intio is not the only through way to become a pilot. So incase you get a regret mail in the course of this recruitment process, pick yourself up and dust off because that's how life is. Failures and mistakes are bridges but not barricade to success.

For those who will do their psychometric test, go break a leg and for those waiting for results, cross your fingers and legs and remember to pray. You did your part, now let God do His part.

selection is solely based on performance and attitude.
How does the company determine an individual's attitude? Some guys have a passion to fly. Some are there because of the salary/money. Some are in the ring just because they have met the minimums.

Good luck folks
Thank you.

To the guys who will go on Tuesday, kindly listen to what the mzungu lady will say concerning dates when Career Connections will handover results to KQ.

Okey, she said the results will be handed over on 4th. I didnt hear it clearly because I was still reeling from the manual dexterity test. I called a guy who was there in the afternoon group and he confirmed it.

If your results will be out on the same day as ours then it will be easy to know when the psychomotor emails are out. I feel that the guys who were there in the morning are so conservative and may not share information.

Teamwork!

A small reminder:

This is no place for heroism or eliticism. This is a team. Conservativeness is divisive. Work together. Share what you know. Remember, if more people passed, the more team players we would have. So do your best. Be friendly. These are the same people you will be paired up with in the future as pilots. And this career dictates leadership and teamwork. Only that matters.

And again,,for the psychometrics and psychomotor, please rest well. Exhaustion will stress and burn you out. And flying is fun, so let it remain so for these whonshare this passion and dream.

@aviatorette

See you tomorrow morning. Just got off a phone call from a lady who identified herself as from Career Connection LTD, asking if I knew where KQ Pride Centre is. So yeah, tomorrow morning it is. 7:30 am sharp.

For those who did theirs last week, all the best as you wait for that psychomotor invite.
For the 4th group, see you on pride center on that day.

Thanks @Joystic and about what entails the test, rookaviator had shared what to expect of which was confirmed by guys who went in on the 19th @brainarc7, I've also been called by the Career connections lady, she emphasized a lot on getting there by 7:30 and going to pride centre and not KQ Hq. Anyways, see you tomorrow

@Aviatorette, Brainiarc7 & all those sitting the test tomorrow, I wish you the very BEST, speed & accuracy.

I'm in the 12.30pm session. That lady from Career Connections was very magnanimous...recapitulating the entire e-mail :-)

Guys, see you tomorrow.
