@Elphaba. We are only 10. But initially we were over 300. The journey was very long but thank God we did not crash on the way but took it all the way home.

Hey people, just relaaaax. Dont expect KQ to call u anytime soon, and dont give up on expecting to be called sometime soon! If it comes let it be like a by-the-way else you risk the possibilty of suffering mental deto...(something) if you keep on banking on it as your be all!
Goodluck in your waiting

@the-admiral:
sorry for not having replied earlier, but I added my ID number in the special pass section, and it was fine..hope you managed to sort it out in time?
I have another question to pose to guys already through for the 27th.did you have to sign any guarantors or sign against a property in case you let loose the training bond? because a number of airlines require that..

hi
Assuming you were called for an interview and you were out of the country because of educational purposes and u never went .Then next time after finishing school u applied again what are the chances of getting called. In short I am a fourth year aeronautical engineering student in Russia i still have two more years to study (am doing a masters program that is 6 years specialist in airvehicle structure and engine repair and maintenance majoring in powerplants ). I have applied for the Ab-initio training i really want and have always dreamt of flying as a carreer i just didnt have the resources to realise my dream .but i am willing to go for any thing even working without pay to get that dream come true i just enjoy being airborne..i finish in 2012 and imediately will come back home. the thing is that i am really afraid that if i dont make it in time for the interview this time, then next time they may not consider me what is the best option or advice i may look at please?

Well, I dont think they segregate that way, from what I know. If anything, they might see you as a good candidate, who's keen on the job. However, maybe you'd like to have made a point to tell them you'd be finishing in 2012..? or, you should've started applying towards the end of 2011 or so..but, if KQ needs pilots, im sure they might have the ab-initio programme each year or so..

Good question, flyinghamster. No, we haven't signed against any property and neither have we signed any contracts yet. My assumption is that KQ are sufficiently satisfied with the shortlisted candidates to risk a very expensive training venture on them. Besides, all who successfully complete their training are eventually bound by contract to pay back the training amount once they become F.O's.

Contrary to popular belief, they do not screen applications. In fact they would rather have as many people as possible for the aptitude so as to end up with a sufficient number to be sent for training. Small errors are the cause of many applications being turned down not the alleged screening process.
