MD80's (ex Alitalia) and SAFAIR

Greetings Team - received a note (below) from Augusto - anyone shed some light ?

"Dear Spotter,
I found your e-mail address on jetphotos.net. I am an Alitalia MD80 copilot and I'm writing you because I'm searching news about our aircraft arrived in South Africa for Safair. They will be registered in your country ? On SAregister there are no news about new registrations of MD80. If you have some information, please let me know.
sincerely
Augusto L"

Does anybody know if SAFAIR will be recruiting new crew members for these MD80s?

1Time...well, probably just a few of them, but surely not all of them! Unless they're planning on a massive expansion programme soon that we don't know of?

Hello,

I am Augusto; I'm quite sure 25 exAlitalia MD82 are now in South Africa.
Italian registrations are I-DA plus other two letters:

WA WE WI WO WD WF WG WH WJ WL WM WP WQ WT WV

VL VM VP VS VU VW VX VZ

CM CN

Rumours says at least 4 are at Durban. At least two will be leased to 1time.

I hope to follow their history in SA Register
