FTC

Did my ppl there. The school is managed by two airline pilots, the MD is an SAA Capt on the A340-600.There standards are quite high so you will get good training. The only problems I had, was living in George seeing you are from India the problems might be relevant to you.

FTC does not provide accomodation you have to stay in town which is far from the airport. The school will help you with suggesting and booking accomodation options.A car is a must if you are to enjoy your training, the school helps with this by arranging instructors to give you lifts to and from school. This can get quite frustrating, as an example you might have a booking to fly at 1500 but the instructor you are getting a ride with has to come in at 0700, you will have to stay at the school until your flight. And it can become expensive during Cpl ground school which is in the evening if the instructor is not going your way you have take a taxi. This is also true for your night solo flights. So make sure you budget for a car even though they will say they would provide transport as you can see it is not convenient.

There was talk from the management about getting a car for students without transport before i left not sure if that saw light, find out from the school.

Another thing to watch is the weather in GRG as it can lenghten your training,so if you are on a tight budget take this into account.Apart from this the airport is a great training environment not too busy, cmmercial traffic and ATC are all pluses for your training.George is very beautiful and comparatively safer than other parts of SA.
