atlas blue

Hello I am a royal air maroc pilot . Atlas blue is flying out of marrakech and agadir .
They are RAM'S low cost , and yes they face opposition but anyway sofar there is a pilot shortage in the mother company .

Living in morocco is very good ,like costa del sol ,very good climate ,nice people and a lot of freedom .
PS. I am an expat here since 37 years .

Hope it helps

Thanks for your information Robert.

Are you part of Atlas Blue management?

I had my interview and I was really not very impressed by the interviewers........

They tried to push me to move my completely family to Morocco for a 1 year contract........

I hope I receive some more replies from pilots that actually fly for Atlas Blue.

Thanks,

Justice Too

Atlas Blue, pure sub of RAM, bases are marrakech or agadir, we stay in the Royal Mirage when we stop over (i'm flying for ram) very nice hotel, Marrakech is a tourist orientated city..very busy and very very hot in the summer months. Flown into agadir but thats it im afraid. RAM's a good company don't know an aweful lot about Atlas vut if there operated like RAM you cant go far wrong. Robert, you're an expat flying for RAM? what on, we might have flown together!!

hello friend ,

No i am not part of the atlas blue management , i am actually retired from RAM ( 35 years as expat ) and finished capt 767 .

So i know all the management staff from atlas , i suppose you are on airbus! Yes they behave (mngt) strangely , but the cockpit atmosphere is very good ,on 737 anyway ,on the bus too . The flt ops chief is a "prick" ,but if you do your job ,no problem .

The place is very good , and i personally believe you can stay more than one year ; there is a big shortage in ram itself . So why not give a try.
Very close to europe for commuting .

hope this helps
happy ldgs

salam Robert3791

I am a pilot working for a major US commuter carrier.
I have Jet command on CRJ's and ATR 72.
All my licences are FAA's and I would love to fly and live in Morroco.
Would it be with my qualifications possible for me to Apply with Atlas blue or Royal air maroc since they are low on pilots?
Do they accept FAA licences with 0 time on 737 or Bus? for F/O positions.

choukrane in advance for any advise you could give me.

your request

hello propjet ,

Here is the info you requested . If you come here as a moroccan citizen they will only accept local licences . If you come as a US citizen they will accept your FAA lic.

RAM only recruits from their academy and atlas blue wants people with 400 hrs min on type ; but i know "rishworth aviation " in sweden is still advertising for atr 42 pilots , give a try via them , and once you 're in it will be a lot easier to find out what can be done to change shop .

best regards
robert 3791

Thanks for the reply roberts.

I did apply for the ATR position.
Eventhough I have ATR72 time
I am currently flying the CRJ 200 moving up to the 700.
Maybe I will hear from them
In waiting I am trying to change carrier and get 737 or bus time.
Congratulation on your retirement
As you said Morocco is a nice and safe country to live in.
I hope one day I will have the opportunity to work there.
I will PM you .

student pilots from the ram academy destined to fly for AB are expected to end the training at the school on June 2008.Next will be the Multicrew and the Type rating,so a few months later. The most optimistic previsions

Robert,

I have more than 6000 hs in the 737 efis.

Marrakesh seems to be very nice to live.

Any idea about the pay and terms for expat captains with Atlas Blue, going with the agencies?

Thanks a lot,

Toofast

Atlas Blue

Hi Too Fast ,

To answer your request ; yes marrakech is a very good place to live ,a "jetset" place now. You can easily live there with the family ; no problem at all . It is now very hot (45-48) but dry .

The flights are all to europe and of easy access if you want to go home ( in europe ,yes).

I only worked there for 6 months ,but i must say the atmosphere in the plane is excellent and easy going. The flt ops mnger is an "a....h...le ,the c/p is very nice.

The whole company is a bit of a big fiddle , hence , the big turn over.
Also if you join , you will not move from the 737 - 400 altough they advertise for 400/800. The only one went back to RAM.
Rishworth in sweden is the agent ,the pay is 6000 euros (80hrs) and 75 per hr overtime .

You will be put in a 4star hotel ,where al the other guys are ,some chose to rent an appartment.
The hotel is paid for by atlas blue.If you need a job now ,you try it ,they are in need ,lots of pilots leaving to upgrade their carreers on bigger types .

Now i suggest you have a go at it and check it out ,nothing to lose . Bring your family and enjoy the good moroccan life .

All the best to you

Hello Robert,
Do you think there is any chance at all of getting a command upgrade in the foreseeable future for an F/O joining now, with 6500 hours Boeing 733 and Bus 320/330/340 time with a JAA licence ?
Is it better to join via a broker or directly ?
Finally, I should be very grateful for any hint who to contact to apply for the position of F/O ?
I also wouldn't mind flying for RAM either
Cheers
SA

Dear Friend ,

To answer your questions :

1) No ,you will not get an upgrade to capt ,even if they tell you the contrary (pilots union will block it and the local CAA requires you to have 1000 hrs as capt on type , atlas blue hrs don't count .)

2) I would say that with your experience you should go somewhere else , not atlas blue .

3) if you really want to try it ,rishworth sweden is the agent to contact ;torkel waak is the guy or claudia gherardi.

4) you should try F/O 321 ,you get more pay

all the best
