That area can be extremely busy, between the front range of the mountains, Denver's Class B, with flight schools, gliders, local hobbyists, transient corporate traffic, etc. Lots of small GA airports within 10-20 km, along with Rocky Mt. Metro, mentioned as departure airport for the 172.
RIP.

Daughter flies a 172 from Rocky Mtn. Metro and was flying that day. First we heard of the accident was an email from her to say it wasn't her. She'd flown earlier.

I was in Boulder for a football game about 10 years ago when there was a mid-air in that same area. No survivors.
Perhaps not a suitable 'see and avoid' airspace...

Avoid the weekends

I used to fly in central NJ and a non towered field under the Newark Class B. I tried to avoid flying on the weekends. So much going on. Hard to keep it all sorted.
