Engine failure - pilot parachutes out - looks suspicious
Apologies if this has already been posted/discussed. I watched this video earlier - the pilot claims to have had an engine failure, and bails out of his aircraft, filming himself parachuting and tbe aircraft ultimately crashing.
It's very odd. But here it is. |
It's all a bit odd, isn't it? I may be a bit on the cynical side here, but I'm wondering about two or three things.
Insurance. As in, was there hull insurance? Who owns the aircraft? The parachute. Looks like a sport parachute. Search and rescue. Because the aircraft was probably quite visible, especially if there had been some form of flight following, a transponder, or an EMT. Comments disabled on YouTube. Hmmm. Not accusing anyone of anything illegal, but just doesn't feel right. |
It is discussed here:

I know Senior Pilot, it's going around and around. It's embarrassing that this idiot Youtuber is getting the publicity at all, so at least we can deny him the link to the views, so they don't count up for him. Otherwise, if posts decrying his irresponsible behaviour continue on multiple forums, what can it hurt! :E
