Close fly by of the tower gone wrong? A little bit of turbulence and you easily hit it instead of flying just past it.

They told us light aircraft pilots needed a special background check called ZÜP to prevent them putting their planes in buildings :ugh:.

That's an expensive way of notifying the tower that you have a problem.

With that said, the damage looks pretty severe, and I wish all involved, including tower personnel, a speedy and complete recovery. It looks like the aircraft hit the corner of the roof (eave area) which could have projected through the windscreen into the cabin area. Not good. The tower cab must have been full of flying glass particles, not to mention airplane bits, but with luck it was tempered (safety) glass. Hopefully the engine and/or prop didn't end up in someone's lap.

Has anyone heard anything about the condition of the pilots and the tower folks?

With regard to the tower: No glass broke. Nobody's hurt.

The article linked by OP states that. It also states that the crew were father and son, seriously injured and administered to hospital by helicopter.
Another article states that they were lightly injured but that's not compatible with being airlifted, so most likely serious but not life-threatening.

Thanks, I neither read nor speak German ... I have enough trouble with English.

Judging from the state of the cockpit area shown on the video, I'd think that anyone who survived that would have been very lucky indeed. Of course some of the damage may have been due to first responders cutting the survivors from the wreckage.
