to an owner in Suffolk,
Not quite - SAC is an aircraft trust operator with dozens of FAA registered machines on its books. The actual owners are likely to be French....

Yep, SAC had the Sala crash aircraft on their books too if I recall. At least not the publicity with this one. Dreadful news none the less - even allowing for my failed French O-level of 40+ years ago! RIP.

Crash of the Ryan PT-22 in France

Sadly, this magnificent PT-22 Ryan collection Aircraft based in France, Clermont-Ferrand, has crashed Sunday 23/02/20. Both the pilot and the passenger died in the crash. I saw it many times at Airshows. I saw it recently, last Friday the 21/02/20 making strange engine noises, like "reduced throttle " for a engine failure test and then, full throttle back... 2 days later.. it crashed...! Curious to know what the report result will be. Meanwhile, my thoughts go to the pilot, passenger and families.

I hadn't seen that post, so submitted one on the same subject. I saw the Ryan PT22 two days before the crash above my home. Strange engine noise, all reduced engine before putting full throttle back and carrying on.. The same was said to have been heard before the crash, strange engine noise... So sad.
