A Husky upside down in a lake south of Edmonton AB.
This happened last Tuesday:

It couldn't be skiing, I'm sure there's a rule against that.

Maybe they thought it was landing on ice?
Just blame global warming... |

Don't most lakes have "flat" water?
|
"flat" meaning relatively calm conditions prevail, and not subject to frequent chop or swells. "Glassy" water has it's own hazards.

dorf,
The lakes in this area are relatively small and therefore usually have relatively flat water. However, they can get quite rough. Here's a picture of rough weather on Gull Lake, one of the larger lakes in the area ( 10 nm by 3 nm): https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.gmf...21ce409ed4.jpg |
