Sea Fury vs Cessna 210

I've been following this, as it happened locally. A Sea Fury collided with a Cessna 210E, N4962U just NE of San Francisco, over the bay. The C210 was flown by the crew chief of the Sea Fury, who died. The Sea Fury was the highly modified Unlimited racer "Dreadnought" SEA FURY TMK 20, registration N20SF.

After radioing, the Sea Fury overtook the C210 from the left. A foot of the vertical stabilizer was severed by the left wing of the C210, the outboard portion of the right horizontal stabilizer and elevator impacted the cowling/engine of the C210. There were prop marks on the underside of the remaining rt horizontal stabilizer.

Terrible accident. Thanks for posting the link to the NTSB info. Actually the factual info there allows one to form a pretty clear image of how it happened. As much as it sucks to be the Cessna pilot, the Fury pilot didn't really get much of a bargain either. Aside from living through it that is.
