L-39's mild mid-air at Fort Lauderdale 12 May 24
Description says two aircraft touched wing tips but looks to me as though three might have been involved? Tailplane of left hand aircraft possibly hits left wing of aircraft in box, then right wing tip hits lead's tail plane? Damaged tip tank is obvious but its right tailplane looks slightly truncated too. Lucky escape whatever...

No 2 lost the plot. Pretty impressive that the lead's rear end stayed in one piece after being banged by the No2's tip tank so hard it bent the nose down.

Just the US warbird movement putting another nail in its coffin on its way back to the „standards“ of the Seventies and early Eighties, cf. e.g. the B-25 that ran out of fuel, the Avenger flying on with a sick engine and ditching off Florida and the Dallas mid-air..
More likely it struck the elevator, forcing it down/up...
