Close call over Orlando Airport

FAA investigating after a Cessna 172 and Delta Boeing 757 had close call over Orlando Airport.

Video footage on abc News is slightly concerning. The report will be interesting ...

Delta pilot obviously a bit rattled - gave his heading instead of his number

Their positions on a map with a timeline would better explain the situation . The R/T recording on VASA not helping much since you get only 1/2 the transmiussions. Possibly the Controller expecting the DL to take off immediately, but was delayed and Cessna instruction could not be ammended because it was between 2 frequencies.? . A good timeline would help undestanding this.

So what is the ADSB mandate doing for us?

There's been two recent GA mid-airs and now this close encounter. Presumably all the aircraft were ADSB equipped.

It seems no ADSB traffic alerts were produced in the involved aircraft.

The PowerFLARM in my glider shows 1080 Mhz ADSB targets.
