Helicopter Bad Weather CFIT

How many times do we read about that, especially with the tour helicopters in places like Hawaii. Well, now you have an opportunity to experience what the situation can look like, leading up to a crash. It sort of has the look like you might be able squeak through, thinking that the vis on the other side of the ridge is like the visibility on this side of the ridge. Then you suddenly discover that you can’t.

Next time you happen to be on a helicopter tour, you can now have the experience of seeing what can happen and start demanding that your pilot turn around based on your previous experience.

Discussion already in place If you're scud-running, don't follow rising terrain.
