Cirrus SR22 down in Upland, CA

Just a few blocks from my house. Chute deployed, but sadly it didn't help. I can't post a link so look at KTLA, KCBS, KABC.

The reported crash location is 0.6 nm on final approach to Cable Airport. The LA Times article refers to a "small independently owned airport". This is a bit misleading. The airport has a 3600' paved runway and over 500 aircraft are based there. It's located 5 nm northwest of Ontario International Airport and 20 nm west of San Bernadino.
