Radio transmissions from Comanche N9456P at 1:15 in the video clip above. He makes an odd remark about a training lesson when the tower asks if he's experiencing any difficulty.

NTSB onsite briefing here:

Facebook videos allegedly of the pax boarding to NSFW 'urban ethnic' music in this article:

Not sure I can see six people onboard even if the plane has the kiddie seats in the back. It has been suggested that the plane would have aft CG and gross weight issues if loaded with full tanks and six adults.

Possibly there will be further video evidence recovered from the burnt cellphones. I'm sure some of the pax were doing selfies during the takeoff.

Names released, looks like one of the folks had an ATP, the owner apparently had a student pilot certificate from what I see on the FAA website. Wonder who was flying and who was on the radio? Was this a 'training' flight with pax as the tower freq transmissions might suggest?

I wonder why ATC asked if he was experiencing difficulty?

Does anyone have additional data on this?

No facts here, but I know from experience that ATC can easily spot an abnormally poor climb rate and also problems with directional control. Both from radar screen (if already tracked), and through binoculars (TWR). Especially, when there is another departure waiting, so ATC/TWR is watching the departure to see when they can clear the next one on line.

The two videos on the link strongly suggest 6 adult persons on board.
The first one shows two adults in the front, a guy (white jumper with black dots on it) and a girl in the next two seats behind them. The second video we see the aircraft from the right side and the man with the spotted jumper is clearly seen and another adult sitting behind him.

Looks like it was removed in the updated video in the news story.

Here's a link to the liveatc.net tower recording:

http://archive-server.liveatc.net/ks...2018-0330Z.mp3

The tower call asking if 56P is experiencing diffculty is at 15:56 on an .mp3 player, about 18:00 when the clip is played in a browser window ().

In a video posted on the Instagram page linked below you can see only five seats installed with the back right seat missing:

Or, is the sixth seat just folded down? It's been a long time since I've been near a Comanche and that was with a fuel hose over my shoulder. As the new part owner says in the post 'Whoohoo 6 seats'.
