Hmm, scribbly Promex B required closed book knowledge of MAFL, QR and the 4 volume loose leaf scribbly manual
I thought Promex 'B' was the old exam for promotion to Flt.Lt., which thankfully was scrapped in the mid 60's. I knew one Pilot who had steadfastly failed it ,becoming the only Fg.Offr. Comet Captain, before the change.
Promex "C" ( prerequisite for Squadron Leader) was part of the rite of passage, along with ISS and the JC & SS (
et seq) "ticks in boxes" for rising Junior Officers aspiring to join the Service aristocracy.
