A while ago I went to the interview for the non-type rated first officer position and the day after I received the following offer:
- salary €1850 per month, 14 months salary - increasing by €200 every 700 hours on jet aircraft up to a maximum of €2350 per month.
- €30 per diem
- 6 days on, 4 days off
- I had to pay €24000 for the type rating
- there was also a 3 year bond for €11000
- They were charging me €600 for the uniform
- The employment starts after line training
They were genuinely shocked when I told them I'd rather be a flight instructor than accept those terms and conditions.
Also if you do the math you'll be better off as a flight instructor than accept those terms.
I suppose it takes some very, very naive people to accept both a self sponsored typerating AND a bond... They are investing €0 and you pay them if you want to leave
