Unless they decide the jet is needed at SOU next summer then yes. It wasn't a real route just a positioning sector that they decided to sell.
Somewhat wide of the mark. The EMA aircraft (and it was a Q400, not a jet) was BHD-based and was specifically positioned with crews ex BHD to fly the EMA-SOU. If they needed to position the aircraft to SOU, they'd simply have added an extra BHD-SOU schedule. Same for EXT-SOU - the Exeter aircraft could easily have operated an EXT-RNS W pattern into SOU if needed there.

As it was, EXT-RNS was shifted to Sundays which nearly killed it, and the whole concept of the SOU weekend hub was (looking at the CAA stats) a total disaster with EXT-SOU and EMA-SOU running at 20% load factors. It was a commercial effort to do something new but didn't work out.

The only other thing running at those kind of load factors in the network is apparently the Eastern E170 into Shetland which is sounding like a miscalculation on a grand scale.
